Calling this number essentially skips a step compared to the main customer service line, as you're taken directly into the reservations main menu. You're asked to confirm again that you wanted reservations before you're actually taken to that menu, so it's not a direct connection to a representative, but it's a minimal wait.

After about a minute, I was connected with a representative and asked for my National rewards club number, which I said I did not have. The representative then asked how he could assist me, and I said that I wanted to get pricing for a rental car in New Orleans. I then confirmed that I would be renting at MSY Airport as opposed to renting in the city. The representative asked for my dates, and I said I'd be looking at May 30 to June 5.

He then asked what kind of car I wanted, and I said intermediate. Finally, before he put in any information, he asked me to confirm that I and any other drivers who would be driving the car were at least 25 years old, which I did.

He then said that a car was available at MSY Airport for the dates I wanted for $670 with taxes, fees and unlimited mileage included. He said that I could reserve it if I wanted by providing him with my driver's license number. I opted not to do that and instead chose to end the call, thanking him for the information.

Overall, I thought that this call was helpful and didn't have any time wasted. I was easily able to communicate what I was looking for, I got the information right away and the representative didn't get pushy when I decided not to book on the call. Based on this interaction, I would use this number again for a reservation if needed.
