My father needs a new cellphone in the LA area, so it made sense to look into FreedomPop to see what they can offer him. He isn't the best at technology so he tried to call but told me he had all types of problems attempting to reach them. I assumed that he was doing something wrong, so I thought that I would give it a try and see if I could get him signed up. It turns out that he wasn't wrong, as I also struggled to deal with their customer service.
FreedomPop is tagged as the most popular source of internet and cellphones for seniors, but they don't really make it that accessible for them to sign up. Granted, they probably have hundreds of thousands of customers, but it was an uphill battle getting my father signed up. I'm sure a lot of people contact them about cell phone service, internet service, and problems with service regularly, but despite that, they could maybe pay a little more attention to the service they give. I will note that I still signed my father up with them because the price can't be beat, just be prepared for the process to take some time.
To start, I tried to call this number and to my shock, it led me to an adult chatline. Unfortunately, I had my phone on speaker in a public place so that was slightly embarrassing. I quickly hung up and tried again thinking that I had dialed wrong, but sure enough, it led me there again. Then I tried to call the number I found on their website, 1-800-702-8302, but it said that I was calling after hours.
With no other choice, I waited until my lunch break the next day to try again. I once again called the number from the website, and it said that I was calling after hours. This seemed odd since it was 11 am in the afternoon PST, but after multiple tries, I still got the same result. Then I tried to call the number ending in 1353 (not on speaker), and this time I got a spam line that was advertising services for seniors.
At this point, it was clear that calling wasn't going to work so I went on their website and found the live chat. The live chat agent is very slow to respond and informed me the telephone lines are working fine. However, I tried again and got the same message that I was calling after hours. I ended up giving up on talking to anyone and just used the website to sign my father up for the service. I just hope he doesn't experience any issues because I really don't know how to get ahold of anyone from FreedomPop.

GetHuman does not provide call center services or customer support operations for FreedomPop. The two organizations are not related. GetHuman builds free tools and shares information to help customers of companies like FreedomPop. For large companies that includes tools such as our GetHuman Phone, which allows you to call a company but skip the part where you wait on the line to get a live human rep. We continue to work on these tools to help customers like you (and ourselves!) navigate the messy phone menus, hold times, and confusion with customer service. As long as you keep sharing it with your friends and loved ones, we'll keep doing it.
