Calling Geico's customer service is effective if you're trying to get a quote for home insurance and renter's insurance, as this phone number is used for both of them. When I called, I was first asked if I needed a home insurance or renter's insurance policy, and I said I was looking for assistance with renter's insurance.

I was then asked to provide the ZIP Code where I would want to get coverage so that I could connect to the right agent to assist me. I gave the ZIP Code, and after a brief wait, I was put through to a customer service representative. He asked me to provide my name and phone number, which I offered.

He then asked how he could assist me, and I said I was moving to a new location and would need to get a renter's insurance policy at my new location. He said that he could help me get a quote set up and asked what the address was of the new location. I said I didn't have my specific address yet, but I could provide the ZIP Code so that he could get a policy started.

He told me that was fine for getting things set up, but I would need to call back later when I had the address so that we could get a policy in place. I said that I would and gave him the ZIP Code. He asked if I had any pets, and I said I had one cat. He asked if my cat had any issues with biting, and I told him no.

He asked me if I was getting the policy for myself or for anyone else, and I said the policy was for myself only. He asked for an approximate value of my possessions, and I told him I didn't have much other than my computer. He said that in that case, a valuation of $10,000 should be more than sufficient to cover it.

I said that was fine, and he asked for my e-mail so he could send everything over. I accidentally hit the disconnect button, and a minute later, I received a call back to try to finish the call. I did not complete the call, as I'd already experienced full service on the call.

Overall, I thought the service provided here was top-notch. It was a thorough, detailed experience that allowed me to get a complete picture of what Geico offers to its rental insurance customers. The agent went over all the details with me to give me the best quote possible for my needs and did a fine job getting to know me as a potential customer. If I needed service, I would absolutely use this number.
