Can I work part-time while receiving unemployment benefits?

Asked 6 months ago
Yes, you can work part-time and still receive unemployment benefits in Texas. However, there are certain conditions and limitations. To be eligible, you must work less than your regular full-time hours and earn less than your weekly unemployment benefit amount. You must also continue making an effort to find full-time employment. The wages you earn from your part-time job will be deducted from your weekly benefit amount. If your earnings exceed more than 125% of your weekly benefit amount, you will no longer be eligible for benefits. Additionally, you must report any part-time work and wages accurately and timely to the Texas Workforce Commission. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a reduction or denial of your unemployment benefits.
